Around the Domaine de Prin…

The Domaine de Prin is ideally located in the very heart of the Champagne wine producing region. It is just 15 minutes from Reims, and 10 minutes from the A4 motorway. You’ll find opportunities for a variety of nature-themed, cultural or sporting outings and discoveries of all kinds just a stone’s throw from the B&B.

 

Champagne: the vineyards and the natural environment

Between the hillsides and the forests of the Tardenois area and located on the Domaine de Prin’s doorstep, Champagne is a region which is definitely worth a visit for its nature-themed outings, and is perfect for exploring on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by car. Or why not admire the region’s heritage and landscapes in a peaceful atmosphere with the gentle wind in your face during a hot-air balloon ride!

Just a few kilometres away from the estate, discover the Montagne de Reims regional nature park including the Faux de Verzy nature reserve which is unique of its kind in the world, or the champagne cellars of the Saint-Nicaise hill, in which numerous galleries known as “crayères” have been carved out. You can also visit the windmill and above all the lighthouse at Verzenay, at the top of which an amazing 360° panoramic view awaits you.

The Champagne tourist route

The Champagne Route, a tourist trail weaving its way between the vineyards and the hillsides, will help you discover the Marne’s wine making heritage and its picturesque villages.
 Explore the vineyards to experience the gentle fragrance of the sap, and admire the changing colours of the leaves in all seasons… Visit some of the wineries to meet the winegrowers, who will be happy to share their passion for this fascinating activity with you.

 

 

The “museum town” of Reims and its outstanding heritage

Just 15 minutes from the estate, discover all the attractions of Reims, including numerous sites listed as Unesco World Heritage: Reims Cathedral, the Museum and Abbey of St Remi or the Palace of Tau. You can also discover much older remains dating from antiquity, including the Cryptoporticus of the Place du Forum and the Porte de Mars among others.

While you’re here, pay a visit to Reims’ champagne producers, with no fewer than 120 kilometres of champagne cellars carved out of the chalk.

 

 

The region’s culinary specialities

Apart from the legendary champagne wine which needs no introduction, you can also discover a number of world-famous specialities: Reims ham, gingerbread (the oldest variety in Europe!), biscuits (including the famous pink biscuit) or Reims vinegar and mustard.
